DR JACK KEVORKIAN WAITS FOR VERDICT.
Dr. Jack Kevorkian jokes and holds up a letter he received in the mail inviting him to join The American Police Hall of Fame and Museum, the same day he waits for a verdict deciding his fate, at the Royal Oak 44th district courthouse November 3, 1998. Kevorkian has been charged with misdemeanor charges of interfering with police and resisting arrest after he dropped off a suicide victim last spring. The November 3 state gubernatorial election contains a proposal to legalize doctor assisted suicide but Kevorkian is against it claiming it is to restrictive. Kevorkian has admitted to assisting in the suicide of around 100 severly ill people. REUTERS/Rebecca Cook
