A model displays a diamond necklace decorated with 18 graduating sapphires estimated to weigh 398 carats within frames of brillant-cut diamonds, and earrings, each decorated with an oval-shaped sapphire weighing between 45.60 and 45.56 carats, created by M. Gerard and belonging to the late Marie Vergottis, in Geneva, Switzerland, May 16. The diamond necklace is estimated to be worth US$1'000'000 and the earrings US$125'000; both are to be sold at Sotheby's spring jewellery sale.
